Directory & Advertising Policy

This policy covers the public unit directory at garrisonactual.com/directory and every paid placement on it. It is part of our Terms of Service. By listing a unit or buying a placement you agree to it.

1. Who can list

Every listing belongs to a GarrisonActual account. A unit on GarrisonActual appears in the directory only when its leadership turns on "List in the public directory". You may only list a unit you lead or are authorized by its leadership to list.

2. What may be listed

Only an active military-simulation (milsim) gaming unit: a real community that plays together regularly and that people can join or follow. Everything a listing says must be accurate, including its name, games, size, schedule and whether it is recruiting.

3. What is not allowed

• Demo, test, placeholder or example units.
• Units that no longer play, or have not played in a long time.
• Businesses and companies advertising products or services, including merchandise, coaching, boosting and paid services.
• Other milsim hosting, unit-management or directory platforms, game-server hosts and resellers, or anyone using a listing to send traffic somewhere to sell a product.
• Pretending to be another unit, or copying another unit's name, insignia or content without permission.
• Misleading information, such as invented member counts or activity.
• Anything that breaks our Terms of Service: hate, harassment, sexual content, real-world violence or anything illegal. Milsim content must stay clearly fictional.

4. How the directory is ordered

At the top, SPOTLIGHT cards are paid placements, each labelled PROMOTED. Up to four are shown at a time (per game when a visitor picks a game), and when more units hold one they take turns daily.

Units that support GarrisonActual with a paid plan are shown first, marked SUPPORTER. Then units that are recruiting, then everyone else. Inside each group the order changes every day, so every unit takes its turn at the top. A FEATURED row may show units chosen by GarrisonActual. Any placement that is paid for is always labelled as paid.

ACTIVE, member counts and NEW come from the unit's own records on GarrisonActual (operations and training held in the last 30 days, members not discharged, the date it joined), not from anything the unit types in. Details a unit enters itself, such as its region, platforms, playstyle and schedule, are its own statements.

5. Paid placements

Paying for a plan or a placement buys visibility, not an exception to these rules. Links from paid placements are marked as sponsored to search engines. Paid placements renew until they are cancelled, like any other subscription under our Terms.

6. Enforcement and refunds

We may review, hide or remove any listing, and anyone can report one to contact@garrisonactual.com. Where we can, we will tell you what is wrong and give you a chance to fix it first.

If a paid placement is removed because it breaks this policy, we cancel it, keep the payment for one month of the placement (or what you paid, if that is less), and refund anything you paid beyond that to your original payment method.

If a unit on a paid GarrisonActual plan breaks this policy, we remove its directory listing. Its plan and its tools are not affected unless it also breaks our Terms of Service.

Repeated or serious breaches can lead to the account or unit being suspended under our Terms. Nothing here takes away rights you have under the law where you live.

7. Questions and appeals

If you think a decision about your listing is wrong, email contact@garrisonactual.com and we will look at it again.

8. Changes

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version. Changes do not affect what you already paid for a placement.
